Sisterhood of Adat Yeshua

The Sisterhood of Adat Yeshua promotes Jewish learning and literacy for women, provides opportunities for woman’s personal growth and spirituality, and supports the goals and causes of our congregation, Adat Yeshua Synagogue.

Our vision is to create a community of women devoted to Messianic Jewish Life; bound by a sense of identity, service, friendship, and our mutual respect.

Sisterhood of Adat Yeshua (S.A.Y.) meets the Third Tuesday of each Month at 10:00 A.M. at Adat Yeshua Synagogue, 1501 Hickory Avenue, Harahan, Louisiana 70123 If you would like more information you can contact us below. If you would like to be placed on our email list please forward request.

This is an exciting year for S.A.Y. We will be going through a study of “Women in the Bible”. This study will give us understanding into the unique roles women have played in the Bible throughout Jewish history. The lives and attributes of these women are portrayed in scripture for our learning. It is HaShem’s way of giving us a template to mirror in our own lives. Not only our lives but as women to pass on to our children. This study is the beginning of our journey into the attributes we are to perfect in order to bring us closer to HaShem and be pleasing to Him. Rambam (Maimonides) writes “The person who strives for perfection must be ever mindful of his middos and he should evaluate his actions and carefully examine his character traits everyday…” Rabbi Chaim Vital writes that the reason there is no direct Torah command to perfect our character is because the observance of the entire Torah is contingent upon it.

Any woman is welcome and eligible for membership who is committed to the objectives of S.A.Y. Membership in Adat Yeshua Synagogue is not required for membership in S.A.Y. Membership is $15.00 per year. Membership is not required to attend meetings and studies. All are welcome!

Welcoming Messiah Home

For too long Yeshua (Jesus) has been separated from Judaism. We seek to repair the breach of centuries. Yeshua said he did NOT come to cancel the Torah and the Prophets (Matthew 5:17). After centuries of estrangement Jews are welcoming Yeshua in their lives and by attending Messianic Congregations. For all people welcoming Messiah is a profound experience.
